After studying at the Pittsburgh Academy, he entered the family business in 1808. A man of great political influence and a member of the Grand Masonic Lodge of Tennessee, he was very active in sponsoring other lodges, including the one that founded Rhodes College.<\/p>\n<p>An American binding<\/p>\n<p>The zebra decoration on the binding, which is clearly American, is particularly elegant.<\/p>\n<p>Some foxing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>8vo (215 x
