Voyage de l’Arabie Heureuse<\/em> is written by the writer ans scientific editor Jean de La Roque based on original manuscripts or log books of the participants of the expedition. His account included details on Jemen, Madagascar, Socotra, Abyssina, including details on the people and scenery. Le Voyage de l’Arabie Heureuse <\/em>contains the account of the first expedition held between 1708 and 1710, together with the "Voyage de Moka à la cour du roi d’Yémen entre 1711 et 1713".<\/p>\n

These two books are mainly concerned with exchange of goods and commerce including coffe, but also observations on traders in the Soukh, diplomatic excahnge in Jemen, and more. The detailed memoir on coffee "Traité historique de l'origine et du progrès du café, tant dans l'Asie que dans l'Europe ; de son introduction en France, & de l'établissement de son usage à Paris", is also included. The work is illustrated with a large engraved folding map, and three engraved plates depicting the coffee plant and its fruit.<\/p>\n
